IKBN Courses To Be Revised To Meet Market Demand

IKBN Courses To Be Revised To Meet Market Demand

The National Youth Skill Training Institute's (IKBN) courses will be revised to make it relevant to the job market, said Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek, BERNAMA reported .

He said the ministry would seek the assistance of the private sector to tailor the courses to the market requirement.

"Fresh certificate holders from IKBN earn between RM800 and RM900 a month and the salary is not longer adequate.

"We hope they will enjoy a better pay if the courses suited the job market," he told reporters after inspecting the construction of the RM78 million Kertih IKBN here Tuesday (15 September 2009).

He said career exhibitions would also be held to expose IKBN trainees on job prospects and expectations.

The Kerteh IKBN, which will be completed in March next year, could accommodate 500 students.
